What can Rees Fitness do to help me?

I aim to help people change their behaviours and habits for the better. Allowing people to exercise better and more effectively, eat and drink healthily and make these regular, easy parts of their lives. For a full list of the specific services I offer, see my Services Available page.

Where will I be training?

I am based in Skipton, North Yorkshire.  The Gateway to the Dales!  For more information about where we can train face to face, please click here.

Of course, I also train people virtually, online.

When can I train?

You can train any time that I am available.  My available appointment times can be found on my Booking page here.

How often can I train?

This depends on things such as your goal and current fitness/abilities. But most people get results from 1-3 sessions a week with me plus “homework”.

How long does the training last?

Each session lasts approx 1 hour.

How much does it cost?

How do I pay?

I will invoice you at the end of the calendar month for face to face training. All online services are paid in advance via this website.

What is the difference between Face to Face Personal Training and Virtual Personal Training?

Face to Face Personal Training is when we meet up in person and I take you through the planned workout that I have created for you.  I make sure you are doing everything correctly, safely and effectively.  I am there in person to make any immediate changes and provide encouragement and motivation.

Virtual Personal Training is almost exactly the same, but instead of being there in person, it is conducted over video meetings.  The main big difference is that I am obviously not there to provide physical assistance.

Just as we would arrange in advance where to train with Face to Face training, we will arrange which video meeting platform to use in advance.  Currently, we have the option of Google Meet, Jitsi, Skype or Zoom.

How does small group training work?

Sometimes people don’t want or need exclusive attention from me for the whole training session.  Some people much prefer training as a group (I work with groups of up to 2 people at a time for face to face training and up to 4 people at a time for virtual training).  The advantages of small group training include:

  • The sense of competition/rivalry
  • The social aspect of it
  • Added accountability
  • It is cheaper!

Virtual Small Group training works in the same way as Face to Face.  An added bonus is that not everyone needs to be in the same place at the same time. I have had fun training families simultaneously all across the country!

What is this online debrief you mention?

I pride myself in helping people overcome the obstacles they face, particularly when it comes to improving their body and being the best version of themselves .  To this end, I have found a regular chance to stop, look back and assess what has happened in the previous week is invaluable.  It is a chance for you to identify strengths, weaknesses and ways to improve.

The debrief is done via online video and has a simple structure to follow.  This gives it the flexibility to be adapted to your needs for that particular week.  Some common things it has been used for include adjusting training plans due to injury or a change in family/career circumstances, going in depth on a particular technique, or as an opportunity to update goals..

What is the Eat Better course?

Eat Better is a multi-week online course that helps you assess and change your eating habits for the better.  It starts by getting you to truly learn and understand what you want to do with your eating.  Then takes you through how to learn and develop good eating habits week by week, and even prepares you for what to do when things get difficult (usually at Christmas, birthdays or holidays).

It can be taken individually, but I find it is often better done as part of a group.  This is made easier by the online nature of it.  All learning materials are provided and “meetings” are conducted via video meeting platforms.

OK, how do I go about hiring you?

Simply click here to contact me through email.  We can then arrange a time/place to meet up for an informal chat so I can get an idea of your goals and you can get an idea of what I’m like.  You must also first fill out a Health Questionnaire so I know what I am dealing with.  From there, we can arrange your first training session!
