In the past, my friend has asked me
“when are you happy and what makes you happy”.
I have then spent hours trying to answer her. I’ve tried to describe situations when I’ve been on my bike at night, surrounded by bats. Or when I’ve been scrambling over walls/obstacles/things. Or when I’ve been in the middle of a coaching session, something has not worked, and I’ve had to think on my feet, adapt and come up with something new.
Basically, I’ve tried to give examples of when I’ve been happy, but never been able to actually explain what makes me happy.
But then I stumbled across this article describing the concept of “Flow”. Now I know what makes me happy. And best of all, I can see its graph!
