Here is some invaluable advice for anyone who is new to exercise, or is thinking about starting to exercise…
Stop worrying, just do it and bloody enjoy yourself!
If you are like the vast majority of people out there who are not either professional athletes, or make their living out of exercise, stop asking and worrying about the “best” way to do this, that or the other.
If you are new to this game, it really does not matter that much what it is you do. We will get to that bit later. Just as long as you:
- Start doing something
- Continue doing something
I was chatting to a really nice guy today who was so concerned with the “best” ways to do this or that, that he was stressed and miserable with everything. He was thinking of giving up. And he had only been in the gym twice!
Once you have started to really enjoy yourself (and you will), you actually start to look forward to next playtime (and you will), and you start to piss off your friends by chatting about it (and you will!)…then is the time to start deciding what your next steps should be and how to achieve them.
And I will give you my top advice on the “next step” later.
