Type 2 diabetes is very strongly linked to obesity. The maths is very simple:
The fatter you are = The greater the chance of you developing type 2 diabetes.
And this report shows that leading drugs are so far not helping to break that equation.
Think of it like this. If you were banging your head against a brick wall and getting a very bad headache, what do you think would be the best option for you?
- Find stronger aspirin to alleviate one symptom (but not do anything about the other injuries sustained by the head banging).
- Stop banging your head against a brick wall.
I’m pretty sure most of us would choose option 2.
So if you are at higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes (and the more inactive you are and the shittier your diet is, the higher your risk), stop banging your head against the wall and:
eat less and do more
