For anyone who has trained with me, or heard me get on my soap box and go off on one, you will have noticed how i like the “little and often” method of getting good at things.
For those who don’t know, the “little and often” method is simply doing a little of something, lots of times (the clue is in the name). Doing this means we get a lot of practice at something, without any single dose breaking us into pieces.
But over time, with all this practice, we get better at the thing we are practicing! You have heard it before...Practice Makes Perfect!
This is continuing the rundown of some of the events I seem to be doing next year. For the full list of stuff I've signed up for/thinking of doing, see my Upcoming Events calendar by clicking here.
Take a look at them and see if you want to join in the fun too!
March 7th - Trollers Trot. http://trollerstrot.com/
Without actually realising, I seem to have agreed to a number of events next year already. I'm going to go through a bunch of them, letting you know what and when they are. Feel free to join us if you like.
And to see all the events I am signed up for/thinking of signing up for, click on my Events Calendar here.
Targets, deadlines, challenges and goals are awesome things. They focus the mind and help us get things done. So here is the first of a few challenges that we can have a go at, see how well we did and see how we improve over time.
I've finally gotten round to doing something that I've been meaning to do for ages! Anyone can now take part in any of the growing number of Rees Fitness challenges whenever they like. They can then record their results for posterity and for the world to see! So far we have the Broughton 1.5 mile run and the Embsay Dam Dash. Do either of these, record your results (don't cheat!!) and see how you compare to others and yourself over time.
I'm going to gradually add more challenges as I get round to them.
We do a lot of our training outdoors. Our FLASHmob sessions are all outdoors and in all weather conditions all through the year (deepest, darkest winter included). So if you have only ever trained indoors or in a nice gym before, here are some tips on what to wear when you join us out side.
In January, our group training sessions, FLASHmob, will have been going for 1 whole year! First of all, I would love to say a big thank you to everyone that has come and played and kept it going over these last 12 months.
And next, I would like to announce the FLASHmob birthday party! On Sunday, January 12th, we will be organising a FLASHmob Scavenger Hunt! It will be open to any and all people who don't have anything better to do with a sunday in January. I will be releasing more details as time goes by, but for now, take a look at our FLASHmob birthday page by clicking here.
All details will be added here, aswell as being announced in the usual FLASHmob way:
So why not join us for (hopefully) a birthday to remember! And while you are at it...tell your friends about it now so they can join in too!
Our big weekend is over!
Me and Linda have been working up to this for a long time now and it was great fun!
On Saturday we drove down to Leamington Spa to do the Wolf Run (www.thewolfrun.com) 10k extreme race. Running and swimming through lakes, through a shed load of mud, over obstacles, big tall cargo nets, crawling through ditches, across monkey bars, over piles of tractor tyres and the best of all...down the best water slide yet! See below for a few pictures...
